Partes do código de computador usado para executar o Twitter vazaram online, de acordo com processos judiciais, marcando o mais recente obstáculo do site de mídia social desde a tumultuada aquisição de US$ 44 bilhões da empresa por Elon Musk no ano passado.
O Twitter emitiu uma intimação em 24 de março para a plataforma de colaboração de software GitHub, onde um usuário identificado como “FreeSpeechEnthusiast” compartilhou trechos do código-fonte do Twitter sem permissão, de acordo com os registros. O objetivo da intimação é identificar a pessoa responsável por compartilhar o código, disse o advogado do Twitter nos documentos.
Os documentos foram arquivados no Tribunal Distrital dos EUA para o Distrito Norte da Califórnia.
O GitHub atendeu ao pedido do Twitter e removeu o código no mesmo dia, confirmou a empresa à CNBC. Um porta-voz disse que a empresa compartilha publicamente todas as remoções DMCA , que ocorrem quando o conteúdo é removido de um site a pedido de um detentor de direitos autorais, no interesse da transparência.
O Twitter não respondeu imediatamente aos pedidos de comentário.
Musk afirmou anteriormente que o Twitter abrirá o código usado para recomendar tweets em 31 de março. Ele disse que espera que as pessoas encontrem problemas “bobos” e que fornecer transparência ao código será “incrivelmente embaraçoso” no início.
De acordo com a solicitação DMCA compartilhada pelo GitHub, a empresa removeu “código-fonte proprietário da plataforma e ferramentas internas do Twitter”. Não está claro se o código-fonte usado para recomendar tweets faz parte do vazamento.
